Broken link monitoring that does not repeat the same report

Monitoring is a second crawl with a memory of the first one. Mortise keeps that memory per verified site and uses it to decide what is new.

No card required. 1 site and 200 pages on the free plan.

Manual checks and schedules

Every plan can queue a crawl from the site page after verification. Free allows one manual crawl every 24 hours, and a failed crawl does not spend that attempt. Pro can leave the site on manual or set daily or weekly. After a successful scheduled crawl, the next run is about a day or a week later. If a scheduled crawl fails, Mortise retries later instead of spinning.

What you look at between crawls

The site page has three useful lists. New breaks are regressions inside the history window: 14 days on Free, 180 days on Pro. Currently broken lists links that have returned 404 or 410 on two crawls in a row and were still seen. Waiting for a second crawl lists a first 404 or 410 that is not confirmed yet, including baseline finds. Those baseline finds do not become alerts.

Stopping

Delete the site on its page to stop monitoring and remove its crawl history from Mortise. Deleting the account removes every site. Cancelling Pro is separate: use the Creem customer portal, or the subscription can keep billing.

Questions

Does the free plan monitor on a schedule?

No. Free crawls are manual, at most once every 24 hours. Daily and weekly schedules are part of Pro.

Will I get an email for every crawl?

No. Email and webhooks exist on Pro, and they fire only when there is at least one new break. A quiet crawl stays on the dashboard.

Can I export the link list?

Pro can download CSV of stored link states for that site: URL, source page, classification, status, streak, and last seen.
